The WOF objectives are to bring together people and organisations thereby facilitating the processes or research, technology transfer and generating business opportunities.
DESCRIPTION
AIMS OF THE FORUM
- To stimulate the growth and competitiveness of the Opto-electronics business sector in North Wales.
- To act as a catalyst to encourage the application of the Optoelectronic technology in the local, national and international economy.
- To encourage the interaction of industry, academia and research organisations in the region, in order to facilitate the research, development and application of new technology appropriate to the industry, eg. By assisting with access to European Funding.
- To provide information, advice and support on appropriate financial, manufacturing and marketing activities that could offer opportunities or enhance the performance and profitability of members.
- To act on behalf of the members collectively on subjects relevant to their business operation, and to discuss such subjects with third parties.
- To liaise with the Welsh Development Agency, the Welsh Office and other appropriate organisations for the benefit of members.
- To present a high profile for the business sector, publicising its achievements, and acting as a centre of expertise in the region to attract and assist with inward investment.
- To promote the technology in education, and to liaise with academia to encourage specific skills training related to the requirements of the industry.
