French Optics-Photonics foundings and initiatives

CLIPS (Cooperation des Lasers Intenses du Plateau de Saclay) - The main objective of this initiative is to reinforce the regional pole of excellence already present in Paris Region in the field of hight power lasers, in order to maintain competitiveness of the community in international competition.

Club Laser et Procédés - Non-profit organisation for the development and the promotion of industrial applications of lasers in France, create links between industrialists, researchers and trainers in the field of the laser processes and federates a network of competences.

NanoSciences - National program that encourage the creation of regional nanosciences competency centers (C'nano) in France to gather academic laboratories working in the field of nanosciences. At this time five C'nano centers have been created (C'nano IdF, C'nano Grand Est, C'nano Nord-Ouest, C'nano Grand Sud-Ouest, C'nano Rhône-Alpes)

GIS FOTON - Scientific interest grouping that gather five laboratories on research on optical telecommunications in Brittany Region.

GIS Photonique et Instrumentation Avancée - The scientific projects of this scientific interest grouping aim at promoting the efforts of the research fundamental and applied in the photonics in Provence Region.

HOLO3 - Alsace Region's technology transfer centre specialized in optical and imagery techniques. Its goal is to develop and give to industry innovating optics tools resulting from academic research laboratories.

LUMIERES - Non-profit organisation that promote, encourage and help Scientific Research activities in the fields of the interaction matter-radiation and the use of light for matter study in Paris Region.

PERFOS (Plate-forme d'Etudes et de Recherches sur les Fibres Optiques Spéciales) - Platform of research on special optical fibres in Brittany Region: innovation transfers between academic research and industry in the specific field of the optical components.

PRISME - Measurement and characterisation platform, located in Paris Region, providing access to research centres expertise in the optics and electronics field. The network targets different sectors of applications such as Medical, Telecoms, Aerospace, Transport, Environment...

SFO (Société Française d'Optique) - Non-profit organization, French member of European Optical Society (E.O.S.), which purpose is to make progress optics and its applications by gathering people having an activity in the field of optics, optoelectronics and their applications.
